Fujifilm XF 16-55mm 1:2.8 R LM WR

The FUJINON XF16-55mm F2.8 R LM WR from FUJIFILM is a fast and weather-protected zoom lens for the X-series mirrorless system cameras.

The FUJINON XF16-55mm covers a focal length range of 24-84mm (equivalent to KB) and is therefore versatile. The new XF zoom lens delivers excellent, sharp images across the entire zoom range, with high resolution from the center to the edges.

To achieve the best image quality in this lens class, the fast standard zoom lens offers a continuous aperture of F2.8 and consists of 17 elements in 12 groups. This includes three aspherical lenses and three ED lenses. The special HT-EBC coating and the Nano-GI coating developed by FUJINON also minimize surface reflections. The XF16-55mm F2.8 R LM WR has nine aperture blades that create a nearly circular aperture opening, creating an excellent, soft blur effect. In combination with a system camera from the X series*, which is equipped with the “Lens Modulation Optimizer (LMO)” function, the XF16-55mm also achieves improved resolution at all aperture levels.

The FUJINON XF16-55mm features internal focusing that uses a lightweight focus lens and a twin linear motor. This enables fast and quiet autofocus. The new XF lens achieves the fastest autofocus speed of 0.06 seconds in combination with an X-series system camera that has phase autofocus. In conjunction with the camera’s almost silent shutter, you can take photos almost silently. This is particularly advantageous in shooting situations where absolute silence is necessary.

The Fujifilm Fujinon XF 16-55 F2.8 R LM WR is weather and dust protected as well as cold-resistant.
The XF16-55mm is sealed in 14 places. This means the lens is both splash-proof and dust-proof. It is also cold-resistant down to minus ten degrees. The lens is therefore a perfect combination with the FUJIFILM X-T1 and its battery grip VG-XT1, both of which are also weather and dust protected.

The focus and aperture rings as well as the lens housing are made of metal. The texture and torque of the adjustment rings ensure optimal handling, especially when focusing manually. The lens bayonet is made of brass and is therefore extremely stable.

With its weight of 655 grams, the FUJINON XF16-55mm is also light and handy. Combined with a camera body, the weight is only around 60 percent of what a comparable SLR system weighs.

The “AF+MF” function enables seamless manual focusing. If the shutter button is pressed halfway to automatically focus on the subject, fine adjustment can be made using the manual focus ring.
